One of my greatest frustrations while in meetings is that of websites auto-playing their videos when I am searching for some information. Granted that in an ideal world, we should all be paying 100% attention to the meeting and not be surfing at all.
But, we all multi-task and may have to urgently get market stats or share the URL of a relevant news article that is the point of discussion in the meeting. And, in the most inopportune time, the site auto-plays a video when you are about to share your great find with the rest of the group.
I wish the browsers would take a leaf out of mobile device's playbook and only allow one tab to use the speakers. This would prevent accidents like the video that autoplays when you least expect it and you have to scramble to stop the video or mute yourself in the web conference.
We plan to address this challenge in our Phase 3 of MeetingCaddy features. Yes, we are executing on Phase 3 now after implementing a full video on/off feature and installer in Phase 2.
